Java moss belongs to the Hypnaceae family, used in freshwater aquariums. It is one of the easier plants to grow. It is attached to rocks, stones, and driftwoods in aquariums. Java moss accepts a wide range of temperatures, substrates, and water. It makes a good foreground plant. It can also be made into a mall wall, using a folding net to spread the moss across it, polyester strings to secure the net together, and held by using suction cup. Java moss can also be a hiding place for baby fish and some shrimp like to feed on its small leaf-like structures.
